Family Shelters

Family shelters provide a place to stay for people that have nowhere else to turn. Whether you are an individual or a family of four, the shelter provides a roof over your head and some other services to not only make you feel safe but to get you back up and running as soon as possible so you can go back out on your own and live independently quickly. Although there are many services in place to help you with this transition, maximum length of stay varies at these shelters.

The rate of poverty is unfortunately growing in the United States and as a result, more family shelters are being built in urban areas across the country. There are many studies that have been done by the Department of Housing and Urban Development that show the continual rise of these poverty rates which obviously underline the growing need of government funding for these shelters. It is incredibly important that these shelters are around in the event that people find themselves in a dire situation.
